From
the beginning, in 1993 Rocktenn's Solvay Mill recognized the need for a complementary employee culture to match its state-of-the-art paper machine. Our team concept environment has created teams of employees to oversee traditional management decision making.
Our team culture includes both vertical teams (shift crews), and horizontal teams of area specialists. There are also teams created to administer other functions, such as hiring, promotion, discipline and ad hoc activities.
The result has been the creation of a unique environment that supports employee involvement and mill stewardship.
